If you are like many Christians who accept the Lord and don’t feel you are receiving the blessings that God promises throughout the bible you may be asking,WHY? Or ask, will I ever? Why is so many others being blessed abundantly and I am not?
Lagatimate questions: I will let God Himself answer them for you in a way that You can receive abundant blessings on a Dailey basis.
I can give you a one sentence answer but will only leave you with no change or explain the real reason. I prefer the real reason which will require reading the full answer.we must start with first things first.
Romans 10:9,10-If you confess with the mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that God has raised Him from the dead you shall be saved. 10. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The key phrase there is believe in the heart. There is a major difference between believing with the mind and believing with the heart. Even Satan believes Jesus is who He is, God in the flesh but does not believe in the heart.
So, what does that mean? Believing in the mind does not change a thing about our salvation because it is a head belief only. When we believe with the heart means that we actually follow Jesus and His direction in our lives. Well, how do we do that? “Great Question”.
We will answer through the next scripture.
Romans 12:2,3-I beseech you therefore brethren that by the mercies of God you present your bodies a living sacrifice, Holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service
And be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable will of God.
Ah, there is the key. This scripture does not mean that you sacrifice your actual physical life but a living sacrifice sacrifice your own failed and incomplete selfish desires and devote your life to following and living God’s ways.
That is what determines our true belief.
From the time we were born raised and trained in ways that took care of self as number one, uno first. So we were trained to use the powers and people to minister to our own needs. We look to others which sees them in ways of, what can they do for me? How can they help me advance in lifestyle. We look to the world, leadership and employers through eyes of what they can do for me. Our lives are centered around self as sole provider. In a sense we worship ourselves. We are actually looking to self as The god of our life.
But then we realize that we are insufficient to get us from this life to heaven. We have no spiritual powers but only physical which is limited by what we can see, taste, touch and smell. We need something or someone more powerful than ourself, someone with unlimited spiritual powers that reaches beyond our physical capabilities of this world and life beyond. That being Jesus. There is no other name under heaven whereby men might be saved then by Jesus Christ The Lord.
So when We invite Jesus to come into our heart He comes in through the third person in Trinity, the Holy Spirit. It is this spirit that teaches us about making the transition from our worldly ways to God ways. In order for that to happen we must.
Mark 8:34- whosoever will take up the cross and come after me, let him deny himself, take up the cross and follow me.
Denying self means that we are denying our current God or authority of self and replacing with our God, Jesus. This is where so many that initially come to Christ say the words die on the vine. It is because they just say the words and continually follow in their old worldly ways of keeping self first.
When we put self first, or our own ways, our own needs, our own satisfaction and then after we have self taken care of, nothing has really changed but just saying the words, I believe. Empty words are as good as no words at all.
What we are doing is sacrificing God on our alter ant keeping Self as our God. We prevented a transition from taken place. We attempt to conform God to our life and ways instead of changing our ways and follow the ways of God.
The transition that needs to take place is, instead of using people and the energies of the world to take care of our needs, with Jesus we use our energies to meet the needs of others and the world.
Jesus instructs us in Matthew that we go into all the and minister the gospel, first in Jerusalem, then Judea and to the rest of the world. This direction is for every christian. It is the christian armey’s marchimg orders.
We use our energies with physical limitations and God’s unlimited energies through the spirit that now lives within us and with no limitations. So we have no limitations as to what we can do through Him.
So, the answer: we, ourselves either hinder God’s blessings from our lives or put ourselves in a position for God to bring His blessings into our lives. Areas where we do not let God have control we close out God from working or blessing that area of our lives. On the other hand where we sacrifice what we want for what God wants we place ourselves in a position that opens up the flood gates of blessings that we will not have room to receive. By doing so it is now Fod that takes care of our needs, provides for and protects us.
So, who are you sacrificing on the alter of your heart? Self or God? If you sacrifice God, you cannot expect his blessings, answered prayers or use of His powers
We must deny self, take up the cross and follow Chrisr. That means if we are to know His ways we need to study His word. If we do not want to study His word, pray, go to church we are not serious about Him. Those that shut Him out gets shut out.
If you are only using God for getting you out of messes you get yourself into you, then ask for prayer you are just keeping Him on the shelf and out of your life until the next time you need Him. You made your own god to be at your beck and call. Who are we fooling?
You cannot treat Him with such disrespect and expect Him to bring His blessings. You are still living under the curse.
Those that follow Jesus are living under His blessings, those that do not follow Him are working against Him and living under The curse.
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. How about you?
Today is the time to turn it around. Don’t wait another day.
God Bless
