The fear of rejection is a natural human emotion. It has kept many talented individuals from reaching or even trying to accomplish what they believe God is guiding them to do. As a result they will make excuses or what they call reasons why they should not peruse the challenge.
The facts are that we are rejected by many more people than ones that accept us or what we have to say. It is especially tough for Christians with a christian message that can help grow The kingdom, and they are rejected by other Christians. We rationalize our conclusion by thinking that if Christians all pray for God’s leading and they reject our idea or mission that God must not want me to do it. Again I want to restate that these are all natural emotions.
However by allowing these emotions make decisions for us we are doomed for failure before we start.
So what is the answer?
Let’s look to at the greatest salesman that ever walked the earth. He is also one that has experienced rejection by the world, His church and His closest friends. Yet His ministry has lasted over 2,000 years and growing today faster than ever before. Of course I am speaking of Jesus. So it stands to reason:
1. If we want to succeed we want to emulate the most successful person we know, do as He does and follow his instructions. The most successful man I know is Jesus. (the world has copied that idea for gaining of financial wealth) however that wealth when achieved never brings what they are really searching for. That is peace, happiness and true prosperity.
2. If Jesus suffered rejection for bringing His message, we also can expect rejection. I don’t believe there was anyone that experienced rejection like Jesus.
3. Just because we experience rejection does not mean that God does not want your message to get out. We will run into roadblocks.
4. We have a decision to make. Let our human emotions control our destiny or our faith. Jesus never promised we would not receive rejection however He did promise us that if we believe in Him and follow His instructions He will see us through to the other side. And get this, He will never leave you or forsake you.
Just remember if God calls us to do something there will always be roadblocks. So many come to the roadblock and think they got the message wrong and stop. Perhaps the roadblock is what God called you to remove.
Jesus has (past tense) overcome the world. With Him we are all overcome rs. We may fail at many things many times but we are never a failure until we give up.
KEEP THE FAITH
Where faith is present fear and doubt cannot survive. The one that survives is the one you feed.
